- Resum
- Jews and Muslims had many and varied contacts in the Kingdom of Valencia. Due to their knowledge of Arab they were tax landlords in territories populated by Muslims, bailes and worked as scribes of Arab letters to the Crown or some lords (in Elche). There were other relations between Jews and Muslims of the personal type: sexual, wizardry, family festivities, taste for “Moorish” objects, commercial activity, money lending, etc., not to mention acts of violence and delinquency. In this article, I also analyze the fleeing of converted Jews to the north of Africa and the exchange of Jews with the nazari Kingdom of Granada.
