- Resum
- This article offers a wide list of words and short phrases as examples of the strong multilingual interaction in medical texts, which were composed and used by the Jews in the Medieval Crown of Aragon. Such an interesting phenomenon is detected especially in ms. Heb 8o-85 from Jerusalem (this manuscript presents a trilingual concordance list – Arabic, Latin and Romance – from the fifteenth century) and in some other medical literature (sifre refuʾot) as the ms. Heb-I 338 (Firkovitch's first collection from the National Library of Russia, fourteenth century). These books contain synonym doubles or triples to clarify the meening of a particular name in Hebrew, Romance, Arabic, Greek or Latin. These synonymies will help to define some expres-sions that designate minerals, vegetables and animals and are difficult to identify.
